BMC on high alert to tackle cyclone ‘Montha’ impact in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar (27/10/2025): The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has stepped up preparedness measures to deal with the possible impact of the approaching cyclone ‘Montha’. Mayor Sulochana Das said that comprehensive arrangements have been made across the city to ensure the safety of residents.A total of 50 cyclone shelters, along with all government schools, have been kept ready to provide temporary accommodation during emergencies. Special BMC teams have been deployed to respond swiftly to incidents such as uprooted trees and waterlogging. Citizens have been advised to call the helpline number 1929 for any emergency assistance.The Mayor also appealed to residents to coordinate with local corporators for timely help and cooperation during the cyclone.
