
Five-Day Training Programme for PGT Teachers concludes
Bhubaneswar(19/09/2025): The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE), Odisha, successfully concluded a five-day training programme for Post-Graduate Teachers (PGTs) of Government Higher Secondary Schools, English Department, on Competency-Based Pedagogy and Assessment.The programme was held at SIRD-PR, Bhubaneswar. The valedictory session was graced by Niyati Patnaik, Director, DHSE; Sasmita Mali, Joint Director; Jitendra Nayak, Deputy Director; and Dr.Umakanta Sethy, OIC, PMU SAMS.A total of 50 teachers participated in the intensive workshop. The training, conducted under the guidance of Azim Premji University faculty members Partha Sarathi Mishra and Jenny Alex, was entirely activity-based.It focused on enhancing English teaching and assessment practices, with discussions on language learning goals, curriculum objectives, classroom challenges, question paper analysis, communication skills, and assessment methodologies. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Director Niyati Patnaik distributed certificates to the participants and extended her appreciation to the resource persons, teachers, and DHSE staff for the successful completion of the programme.Teachers also shared their learning experiences and expressed gratitude to the Directorate for organizing such an initiative. The programme was anchored by PGT Preesita, while Pretistha Mohapatra delivered the vote of thanks.
