Bhubaneswar District Campaign Chief Dr Lingaraj Sahoo seek opinions from hundreds of elders; demand for Bhubaneswar District

Bhubaneswar(23/09/2025): A signature campaign has been launched in Bhubaneswar demanding that the city be made a separate district. Local elders have expressed their opinion that Bhubaneswar deserves to become an independent district. Today, hundreds of elders joined the campaign near Buddha Mandir here, and signed in support of the demand.

Madhumadhab Jena, Narayan Mohapatra, Rashmi Mohapatra, Rajendra Samartha, Sangram Paikaray, Naba Kishore Behera, Krushna Chandra Pati, Samarendra Sahoo, Jugal Kishore Sahoo, Hasan Khan, Bijaya Patra, Saroj Mallick, Chitralekha Acharya, Ashalata Rautray, Bhubaneswar District Campaign Chief Dr Lingaraj Sahoo, along with hundreds of other elderly persons. The campaign for Bhubaneswar district is being supported by various organisations under the collective banner ‘Milita Mahamancha,’ with participation from villagers of Bhubaneswar outskirts, Balianta, Balipatna, Nakhara, Baliyatra areas, Bhubaneswar Court, and several puja committees. Signature collection has been continuing for two years. It has been decided that the demand will soon be formally submitted to the government.
